US Women Dramatic Wins

Members of the United States Women’s National Soccer Team were in action this week and they did not disappoint. These women packed rosters for the start of the NWSL Challenge Cup and they were very impressive. Thanks to dramatic goals, the Washington Spirit and North Carolina Courage soared to victory. Women’s soccer returned to action this Saturday but was previously scheduled to start in April. However, the league was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Challenge Cup is the first time a live team sport has returned to the United States since the pandemic.

The North Carolina Courage beat the Portland Thorns with a final score of 2 to 1. Meanwhile, The Washington Spirit won a competitive game against the Chicago Red Stars with the same score. Before the game, players showed solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement by kneeling during the anthem and wearing associated shirts before the game. Fans agree that the way these women perform will matter more than their antics before or after the games.

Dean Henderson Stays With Sheffield United

This week, it was announced that Dean Henderson had extended his loan at Sheffield until the end of the season. The contract for the 23-year-old was set to expire on Tuesday and that would’ve been the normal season’s conclusion. However, the coronavirus outbreak set everything back and created complex loan deals for many teams. Thanks to the agreement, Henderson will stay with the Blades until July. The team is eagerly pushing for European qualification. This season, Henderson has been spectacular. The team will be thrilled to have them by their side.

Now that Dean Henderson will continue playing for Sheffield, it is a good idea to visit แทง บอล and bet on his team. He will likely help them claim victory.

More COVID Tests

While soccer has returned to the United States, problems exist. Five Major League Soccer teams have arrived in Orlando where they’ll be sequestered in a league bubble. The teams will be staying at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and the Swan and Dolphin Resort. The remaining teams will return this week ahead of the MSL Is Back Tournament. If everything goes according to plan, the tournament will start on July 8 at 8 PM. The league was shut down for 3 months due to the COVID pandemic. And, players are concerned now that cases have surged in Florida.

As of Sunday evening, more than 320 players and staff members had been tested on-site. Two players have tested positive and both were players who had just arrived at the resort. Players who test positive are checked by a doctor before being moved to an isolation area. They’ll stay there until they receive medical clearance from a doctor. Before the move, 18 of the league’s 668 players had tested positive.

Those who test positive before traveling cannot travel until they receive 2 negative tests back to back. Players are tested every day.

Black Footballers Coalition

Meanwhile, the leader of the Black Players Coalition of Major League Soccer in the United States and Canada has called on black footballers in England to form a similar coalition. The goal is to help fight racism while address inequalities. This comes after 46-year-old felon George Floyd was killed during a police altercation in the United States and countless violent protests across the country. According to the latest statistics, the MSL consists of more than 40% of people of color. So, many will be interested in seeing how the league can change even more to accommodate these individuals.
